Craft: Footprint Picture Frames

Hello! It has really been on my heart lately to do a post on SIDS and co sleeping.... However, I want to do the topic justice by doing ample amount of research and writing. So instead today Im going to post a craft that I did! :)

Footprint Picture Frames
What you will need:

For the footprint-
-1/2C Salt
-1/2C Flour
-1/4 C(give or take water)
-1 mixing bowl
*Honestly these guidelines are loose for the dough just make the dough to the consistency of dough you may need a little more here and a little less there. Just keep working with it until it is doughy.

For Frame:
-1 Frame
-1 decorative scrapbooking piece of paper (Mine had little pink footprints)
-1 colored piece of thick scrapbook paper (I picked a black sheet because the frame was black)
-1 permanent marker
-Any other thing you choose to decorate the frame with (I picked little white flowers)
-All purpose glue
-Your child ;)
-Wipes

Instructions:
Step 1: Combing1/2 cup salt, 1/2 cup flour, 1/4 cup (give or take) water. Knead until dough forms.
Step 2: Form the dough into a shape that will be big enough to imprint the babys foot. I made dough  rectangles.
Step 3: Make footprint impression. (Good luck with a wiggly baby!) This was a two person job!Wipe babys foot off after!
Step 4:Bake at 200 for 3 hours.
Step 5: Take the backing from the frame and cut the decorative scrapbook paper to the size of the backing. Also, remove glass from frame and discard!
Step 6: Glue the decorative paper to the backing and let dry.
Step 7: Cut the thick paper to size to fit around the footprint.
Step 8: Glue footprint to thick paper. (remember this paper is just a border and should not be as big as the decorative paper... especially if you want to write the name around the footprint.)
Step 9: Place the backing with the decorative paper back into the frame.
Step 10: Now center the footprint paper on the decorative paper that is already placed in the frame and glue together, leaving room to write their name and age along the top and bottom.
Step 11: With a permanent marker write what you would like around the footprint on the decorative paper... For example I wrote Noel Christine on the top and 2 months on the bottom.
Last Step: Glue your extra decoration on the frame and lay down flat and leave it over night so everything can dry.

ENJOY!!!!!!! <3Kim
